We’re Getting Better at These Rest Days
Much rest was needed to recover from the last few days and to prepare for the climbing ahead. Rustem arranged with Taraman abi to sail us to Greece for a few hours. One of the Greek islands is just off the shore of Kas. We had our staple breakfast of "toast" and cay and set sail.
The boat ride took a little over an hour and was very relaxing on the sunny decks. Once on the island (and sanitized by the military officers for bird flu) we started hiking around the island. Rustem was our tour guide as usual filling us in on all the history. Paul decided to do some further hiking over the top of the mountain while we headed back to the water for something to eat.
As usual, the food was amazing and complimented the calm atmosphere of the mediterranean. The captain gave us the signal and it was time to board the boat and head back to Kas. It was well worth the experience.
Back in Kas we did some cycling laundry and headed our for an easy 45 minute recovery ride followed by...yes, you guessed it....dinner. Rustem and Brian cooked up some Lentil soup and Corey, Paul and Tom went into town for some more of that chicken and Adana kabap. It is time to get some sleep with another big day of climbing in the morning. The big question is....will our cycling clothes be dry in the morning?
Good night.
