Day 1

Once we arrived in Turkey, we quickly forgot about the travel. Rustem and Munir picked us up at the airport and took us to Munir's home for a midnight snack (at 1:30 AM). After a few hours of chatting and eating we retired knowing we would be riding tomorrow (even though it was pouring out).

In the morning we had a great breakfast prepared by Munir, his wife Arzu and daughter Gokce. We learned a ton about the creation of olive oil and some of the traditional Turkish cheeses (it helps to be eating it at the same time).

Munir drove us to the bus so we could head to Alanya to meet with the International team at their training camp. The team had just returned from a 160 KM ride and was hitting the sauna when we arrived. We quickly unpacked the bikes and suited up for a hour ride to loosen up the legs from the drive.

We enjoyed a nice diner with the team and look forward to tomorrow's 130 KM training ride. Apparently, there will be some attacks and climbs. The coach said he would be able to tell us our condition after watching us for 20 minutes. I don't know if I want to know. I'm sure it will be obvious.

Well, off to bed to rest up for a beating. Good night.
