Day 8
Today's weather-man award goes to Bobby Mac who was the only one to get in a ride without getting wet. The rest of us went out a little later and ended up riding in a typhoon. We started in light rain with 40mph winds and it went downhill from there. Rustem, Chris and John turned back while Tom and Gary were determined to get in at least 40 min of riding. As we arrived in the next town, Gary noticed that Tom was riding sideways. At this point it was decided that is would be best to turn around. With a 50+ mph tailwind we got home in no time.
Back at the hotel we enjoyed a relaxing day around the fire drinking coffee and cye. We cleaned the bikes and spent more time than normal at the internet cafe.
For dinner we walked to this small Turkish bakery for some Pide (sort of like pizza but 10 times better). While we were waiting for them to cook up our dinner the rain started to come down hard. Special Note: Bobby Mac had again amazed by leaving the bakery and making it back to the hotel seconds before the downpour. Sherin from Hotel Rain saved the day again by picking us up at the bakery and setting up a killer spread back at the hotel.
It was an evening of good food, drinks, laughs and some euro MTV. It seems there is never a bad day in Turkey.
