Day 2
There was a threat of rain, but the skies were clear and the temperature was in the 60's. It has become a tradition to spin down to the edge of the Mediterranian to view the waves and castle before we started our ride.
We headed off to a town called Slifke and beyond. The winds were in our favor on the way out but we all new what that meant for the return trip. Our plan was to go outr for 3 hours on rolling terrain before we hit the climbs tomorrow. The scenery was absolutely beautiful making it difficult to keep our eyes on the road.
Unfortunately, we ended up running out of daylight leaving us riding in the dark. Eventually we made it back to camp and got cleaned up for dinner at our favorite restaurant.
At the restaurant, we were hit with the usual barrage of beer, food and deserts. Never in our lives did we eat that much salad ( and by the way, that was not the salad - inside joke). After dinner we crawled over to the fireplace for coffee and conversation. Sherin, the owner of Hotel Rain, picked us up in his SUV and took us home. Back at the Hotel we had more coffee causing some of us to wake up at 3:30am.
